Bad Bunny's takeover of Reggaeton

Bad Bunny (also known as Conejo Malo) is a Puerto Rican born artist who started to breakthrough his career in 2016. He transitioned from a trap-latino artist to a reggaeton icon. Bad Bunny has made and been featured in songs like "Mia" with Drake, "Me Porto Bonito", and "Soy Peor", the song that took off his career in 2017. When people think of Reggaeton artists, more times often than not people think of Bad Bunny. He continued to feature and make songs that had millions of streams and songs that have over a billion views on YouTube.

His Dynasty peaked this past summer when in May of 2022 he released his record-breaking album "Un Verano Sin Ti" (A summer without you). "Un Verano Sin Ti" is a 23-song album with a Side A and a Side B that features artists like Rauw Alejandro, Bomba Estero, and Jhayco. "Un Verano Sin Ti" broke many records like staying at the billboard no. 1 spot for 13 weeks straight and having 4.3 BILLION streams across all platforms. The album captures the imagery of the "unforgettable summer" and tells two different stories on each side of the album (Side A: Party and Fun side of summer / Side B: Reminiscence of summer and ending of summer). In my personal opinion, this album is a masterpiece and will always remind me of summer or "the summertime lover" whenever I hear a song from that album.

Bad Bunny continues to make music that reaches the billboard top 10 and goes all over social media. His most recent collaboration with Grupo Frontera has made lots of noise recently because it is mending cumbia (another Latino music genre) and reggaeton together. He has also collaborated with artists like Cardi B and Gorillaz and has made successful hits with both of these artists. Bad Bunny will go down in history as one of the most successful and influential artists to ever live.
